Storing physical Photos

Hi Gang -

First post here. Just getting into processing and scanning and storing photos and tying it all together with Reunion.

Wondering how you all deal with the physical Photos after scanning them. I don't want to get rid of them all, but can't see keeping many duplicates (or near duplicates, i.e. same event from different angles or different perspective....)

So how do you deal with the physical photos? Big Rubbermaid container? Photo albums? envelopes?

I don't cull my collection, but I understand why others do.

I scan my photos, then group them by event. I place the group of photos into a plastic envelope (or several if there are too many photos to fit in one.)

Then I take a sheet of card stock and cut lengthwise to the width of my photo box. I then write a short synopsis on the yardstick; who was there, where they were taken, what was going on, etc. This can be handwritten or printed. Then I fold the card stock around the grouped photos and place it in the photo box. This is my way of giving a few clues to anyone who finds the photo box in future years, so that even if they don't have access to my computer files.
