    Places

    Since 'upgrading' to Yosemite OS X, many (not all) entries of place names have been replaced by entries such as [[pt:230]] and [[pt:1537]], [[pt:497]] and [[pt:56]]. Some are in England, others are in Australia; I haven't checked every one of them - and I doubt I could remember them all, anyway.
    Will I have to correct them manually (presuming I can remember them) or is there some easier way?

    You need to e-mail the help desk at help@leisterpro.com

    They can help you, there's really not much you can do on your own.

      In most cases these entries can be corrected by rebuilding your caches files using:

      File -> Rebuild Cache Files...

      If that doesn't resolve the issue, then it's best to e-mail us your Family File with details on the problematic entries. A backup, if you have one, would also be helpful.

        Thanks, Mark; I tried rebuilding the cache files, but all that did was change the numerals in double square brackets (parentheses?) with entries such as **missing place 228 or **missing place 56, even for my own sister and brothers!

        As I asked with a question about linking, how do I send you the Family File (and how the backup)? Do I send it through this site or in a separate email?

        I'm also left wondering - what else will I find Yosemite has fiddled with?

          Hi Neil,

          See my comment in the other thread regarding how to send the Family File.

          Also, if you have a backup containing the missing places, please send us that file as well.

          ...what else will I find Yosemite has fiddled with?
          It's possible this wasn't caused by Yosemite, that it happened after upgrading may have just been a coincidence.

          Thanks,
