    (Second) grandchild not showing relationship

Hi - I entered my second grandchild but unlike his brother, his entry is not marked by same relationship - in his case 5G grandson. Why is that? What did I do incorrectly? His parents are showing 2 children.

As always there's a simple explanation. It's just that I don't know it.

    many thanks

    Geoff

Did you refresh the "Find Relatives" process? New entries don't have a relationship until you do a Find Relatives after you entered them. Just go back to your source person and do this and all should be OK.

Yup - that works. Thank you!! Hope I remember this next time any of my children has a child..... Bit I'm wondering why this is necessary - shouldn't it do it automatically?

Just answered my own dumb question - of course it depends who is the source person amongst all the many people amongst the ancestors. Each person as has many different relationships as there are branches of their tree. I think...
