Moving Child & wife to new mother

I had a son, John, listed as the child of wife 2 (not knowing there was an earlier wife) I had already added his wife and children's information, I moved him to the clipboard and then from the clipboard to the correct mother. I thought his wife and children would move with him, but they didn't. How should I have made this move?

Hi Gerald,

It sounds like you dragged John from the Family View where he appears as a spouse to the Clipboard. This would unlink him from his spouse and children, but not from the incorrect mother.

Instead, you should have navigated to the Family View where he appeared as a child (to the wrong mother) to the Clipboard. This would have unlinked him from that couple (the correct father and incorrect mother), but retained the links to his wife and children.
