    Re: Book, editing text

Thanks for the reply, the method you outlined is the approach I currently employ. For a single book the regeneration works beautifully, kudos to the Reunion Team for that foresight.

The point I was trying to raise was the ability to add these pages in Reunion, allow for user editable text and it would become a selectable page for insertion into the book. I produce many books (booklets) where I wish to maintain consistency throughout. With every new book I have to re-start the cut and paste ordeal with mixed results.

Thanks again for your previous post, it was very informative.

      Re: Book, editing text

Reaching out to the very helpful Reunion community.

Seeking advice on a good inexpensive book publishing outlet. Most of the booklets I do myself using the booklet feature in Adobe print to format it to 4-1/4" x 8-1/5". For booklets less than 50 pages I use two staples to bind them. Beyond that the staple method makes the booklet look awkward and bulky. Perfect bind (I believe is the industry term) would be the preferred method. Most of the book publishing agents I have researched to date is not very kind to one-of's and the cost is exorbitant.

I am in the process of generating a book for my Aunt which will have in excess of 300 pages. Using spiral spline or similar binding method is not my preferred option but maybe the most cost efficient.

      Thanks,

        Re: Book, editing text

I have been using Blurb Bookwright. I've been working on my father-in-law's memoirs and published one copy as a trial run to see how it would turn out. I'm very pleased. It looks like a proper library book.

The program works with frames, so it took me a little while to get the hang of it as I'd never done it before, but now it's easy to add new frames, save the page formats, add pictures, and so on. I copy and paste text I've already written elsewhere, so there's no need for duplication. I even got a free ISBN code.

I have no affiliation with the company, so am simply reporting on my experience. As a comparison, I tried Amazon books' program but had great difficulty with it. Whether it's because I was used to Bookwright or whether it was my lack of understanding, I don't know.
