I have been using Reunion for two months and recently upgraded to Version 11, so please forgive my lack of knowledge. I have somehow got relationships mixed up and do not know how to fix it. I will try to explain.

My grandfather was James Mackie ("Grandfather" shows under his name in Tree View = correct)
His mother was Isabella Rose (G.Grandmother shows under her name in Tree View = correct)
Isabella had seven siblings (in Tree View GG Aunt or GG Uncle show = Not correct as they are the same generation as Isabella) and show in the same row as her which is as it should be.
The parents of Isabella (and the other seven) were George Rose and Christian Reid. (GG Grandfather and GG Grandmother show as the relationship to myself in Tree View = correct.

What have I done? How can I fix it? The parents and children are accurate. I have checked this out again. The position in the tree of everyone is correct. The only error is the relationship of Isabella’s siblings to myself.

The problem seems to be related to this one part of one family, and does not appear to affect other relationships.

I am afraid to alter anything in case I make the situation worse. I do hope someone can see what my problem is and point me in the right direction. If there is any other information I can give, please let me know. I would be very grateful for some help.

I may be misunderstanding, but I think the information you think is wrong is actually right. Different people use varying terms for the aunt of your father or mother; either great-aunt or grandaunt are correct. Same goes for great-uncles or granduncles.

So the siblings of a great-grandmother would be GG aunts/GG uncles.

There is a setting in Reunion (in the Relatives sidebar) which you can use to toggle between the "great" and "grand" terminology.

Thank you very much for your speedy reply and for helping me understand this. I get it now. If I have a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, the sister of those would be aunt, grandaunt and great-grandaunt. A light bulb moment, as they say!

I suppose that unless you are doing family history, the various titles are not so important. I really thought I had made a mistake as it looked wrong, and I could not see any way to correct it.

I do appreciate your help. As I said, I am very new to Reunion but so glad I chose this software.
