Is there a way to turn off the new feature of "on-the-fly" relationship calculation? At first I thought this would be a really nice feature; however, I have a database of 240,000 names and it takes a really long time for the calculation to take place each time I add a name.
For example if I see a relative's obituary in the newspaper and he/she has 11 children (that were not in my database) it will take 1-2 minutes to add the names of all the children or grandchildren. That may not seem like a lot of time but to take a half-hour to input the data of one obituary is not efficient use of my time.
Because I am from South Louisiana we have a large inter-related community where everyone is related to everyone, so one person could be related to another person 1,000 different ways. I think this bogs down Reunion's practical data entry process.
I would (in the past) run the relationship calculator about once a month to have it update to all of the new entries in my file.
So, I'd like to know:
A) how to turn off the "on-the-fly" relationship calculator.
B) If there is now way to turn off "on-the-fly" calculations if we could add that as an option in the next upgrade of Reunion 11?
Sincerely,
