    family pictures with multiple people

Thanks for the tips. Here is something I've been wondering about. I have several "family" pictures with multiple people in them and I'm wondering what I should be doing with them. Do I add the same picture to each member who is included in the shot, or should it be added to the parents family multimedia spot only (sometimes the parents aren't in the shot). I would think that if I include it to each person, that this will quickly add up the gb space needed in dropbox. Wondering what other's are doing in this case.
Thanks for any guidance. Always appreciated.

Re: Pics added to Reunion11 not transferring properly

I tend to put a family group photo in the family section for multimedia, and a cropped version in each person's multimedia.

If a person has a full length portrait, and it's the only/best portrait I have of them, I will include that full length portrait in their multimedia, and will also make a copy that I'll crop to a head shot for their preferred picture. So I'll have two copies of the same picture for the same person.

With about 4,000 people and about 550 thumbnails for people and sources, my family file is about 80 MB. As I digitize sources, that should grow slowly.

All of which is to say that Dropbox storage is going to be a case by case issue for everyone. As it turns out, the 80MB of my family file is the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Because of other projects taking the lion's share of my free allotment, my Reunion file took me over the top, so I upgraded to a paying subscription as a result.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas. I had done some cropping of pictures as well to get a good headshot for the person card, but I still had the "whole pic" in the persons card as well. I think I will move these to the "Family Media" section as well, and in the case where there are several siblings in a picture, I will put that photo in the parents Family Media section, rather than duplicating it several times. No need for that as long as the picture is available for viewing!

I am basically in the same boat with my biggest file being around 1.5 gb so far. I haven't uploaded my maternal side file yet , nor both of my husbands family files. I can surely see that a paid dropbox is the only route to go unfortunately.

Loving Reunion 11 and ReunionTouch very much. Looking forward to really using the mobile app when the weather warms up enough to go out and about and doing what my husband calls "your grave digging"!
