Dictation/Voice-to-Text Software Programs

I'm starting a big project of converting hand-written letters and other documents to .doc texts. I'm using the "Dictation & Speech" function that is built-into my MacBook AIR. I am looking for a software program that could execute more commands like "Tab, underline, manual spelling of unusual words, expanded vocabulary, I would appreciate hearing about friends experience with different software products.

The only third party speech recognition software I know of is Dragon for Mac, which is supposed to be pretty good.
