Set checkboxes & flags for subset

Is there a way to set flags & create checkboxes for a subset of people? For example:

    1. For all persons born after 1839, create checkboxes 1841 Census, 1851 Census, 1861 Census, etc.

    2. For all persons born after 1849, create checkboxes 1851 Census, 1861 Census, etc.

I've tried to it for marked subsets but the checkboxes appear on all persons. Looks like setting up checkboxes is a global operation.

Use the Find screen to find the people that match your criteria, and then once you have those people in a Find Results list you can Mark them all, and then use the Set Flags to set the relevant Flags for them.

Then change the Find criteria and repeat the process.

Yes, but what I take to be the question is "Can you create flags on only one subset of people?" To which the answer is no. When you create a flag, that flag is present for each individual. For some individuals it is set, and for some it is not set, but the flag is present either on everyone or no one.

Roger's method is good for setting the flag just on those individuals to whom it pertains.

Well that's a Schrodinger type situation - here are flags set on a couple of people in my database.

But you have no inkling at all of what flags are not set :-)

When the flags/cats are created, we know their initial state... unset/alive.

And we can know that by looking at the page where they live

Fortunately, for Reunion, this does not change their state.
