Customizing Source Fields

I am customizing my source fields. If I add a new source field, can I have duplicate GEDCOM tags for different source fields that I customize?

In the Reunion 11 they each have a different GEDCOM tag for each source field. If I add a new source field, can I use a GEDCOM tag that is already used or do I need to use a GEDCOM tag that is not already associated with any source fields?

I do not want to customize the source fields (with the same GEDCOM tags) if it will not export correctly once I have added my 13,000 family members and information.

Each field should have a unique GEDCOM tag.

You can create you own tags if you wish - convention says you should start them with an underscore, so for example

_DATEV

could be a tag for the Date you Viewed something.

If you use the same tag in more than one field, any software importing that data won't know that the bits of information should be in different fields, and may well do unexpected things, like dump them all together, or ignore all but the first instance, or...
