Just found the update to 11. I have an old iPad I use as assistant so I don't always have to switch screens. Will I not be able to update my iPad via Mobile Device Syn anymore? MEC

Reunion 11 and the new ReunionTouch app use a new method of syncing, which is done automatically over Dropbox instead of requiring a manual sync. For more information please see the ReunionTouch page.

Don't think so if you update to Reunion 11.

The first generation iPad will work with iOS version 5.1.1.

And that does work with ReunionTouch.
