Filtering Marked Persons and Specific Conditions

I would like to obtain a list of all marked persons buried in a specific cemetery. I have attempted to use the "Look For" function but clicking on "Marked" doesn't filter out the Marked persons.

Seems like I should be able to do it but can't quite get a handle on it.

    Thanks for any help.

Experimented just now. Doing "Events>Burial>Burial Place - is - xxxxx" got me a no matches message even though I entered an exact match of the burial place I have on at least a dozen records.

I then tried "Any Person Field - Contains - xxxxxx" and got 16 matches. Seems to me that my first construction should have got the 16.

      Try this...

Choose "Find" in the navbar and select the People tab.

      Then, select these Conditions...

Attributes / Person Marked ... "Yes"

      Check the "And" box.

Events / Burial / Burial Places ... "Is" ... <copy text from a burial place field and paste it in here>

I hope this is helpful for you in getting the results you want

I'm not sure why you saw what you saw. However, using "is" was working for me when I tried it.

Try copying the text from a Burial Place field and pasting it into that search field when doing the "Events>Burial>Burial Place - is - xxxxx" search.

        Does that work for you?

          Deb:

Didn't see the Attributes / Person Marked ... "Yes", so that works.

Looks like the problem is that the field is limited to 25 characters, so I couldn't cut-and-paste the full cemetery name. I need to use the full name because there are a lot of cemeteries in different locations with the same name; i.e. Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery, Winooski, Chittenden, Vermont (more than 25 characters).

          Suggestions welcome.

Paste 25 characters that are unique to the location, and use "contains" instead of "is". Using the 1st 25 characters will probably distinguish between most places, but if it doesn't in a particular circumstance, like this one, choose a different 25 characters.

            or, using a different approach,

Mark the people you are interested in, switch to the Places sidebar, find the cemetery, click on it, and click on the Usage tab. Now in the lower right corner is a list of people buried in that place. (Some will be marked, some will not.) Under the "check" menu, select "unmark everybody in family file, mark everyone in list". Now all the marked people are the people you want, and if you print a list of the marked people you will have what you're looking for.

Thanks. I used the "unique" 25 character approach (should have thought of that) and that worked!

              Cheers!
