    Open Recent option not working

    Has anyone else run across this issue in Reunion 11.0.6 (running Yosemite 10.10.3)?

    The side menu on File > Open Recent seems to sometimes keep some, but not all, of my recently opened files in the list. In addition, although I have "Open the most recent family file" checked in the Startup Preferences, Reunion starts up with the same file everytime*–*not the most recent file. (Although, interestingly, is seems that if I quit Reunion and immediately start it up again, the correct file opens. Otherwise, it doesn't.)

    I've tried redownloading Reunion, reinstalling, removing the preferences file, repairing permissions*–*nothing seems to help. Any one have any ideas?

    Thanks.

    Are you using any "cleaning" applications, such as Mackeeper?

      No, I'm not. I occasionally use Onyx, but I haven't used it in a while.

        Could you be launching a Reunion icon that is a link to that one family file rather than the application?

          Thanks. Interesting thought, but, no, I'm launching it right from the application icon.

            Please try the following:

            1) Open a Finder window and select:

            Go -> Go to Folder...

            From the main menu-bar.

            2) In the window that drops-down, enter:

            ~/Library/Preferences/

            And click Go.

            3) Look for the file:

            com.leisterpro.reunion11.LSSharedFileList.plist

            And drag it to the Trash, then empty the Trash.

            Once that's done, open/close files in Reunion 11 and see if the problems persist; let us know if they do.

            Thanks,

              FWIW, I have a copy of my Family File on my dock, so that when I wish to open it I just click on that icon. I don't need to open the program icon in the dock.

                Thanks. That would work well, but I have a number of family files, and it would be convenient to be able to keep them in the recent files list rather than to keep them all in the dock. Still trying to figure it out.... Thanks again.

                  Thanks, but it didn't work. Here's an interesting thing, though: when I open the plist, I can see whatever few items it happened to keep in the "Open Recent" list. When I clear the list in Reunion, I can see that the items are gone in the plist. When I then delete the plist and open Reunion, the list is back and it opens the same family file that it always does (even though it wasn't the last one used). It's as if it's getting its information from another plist somewhere. Very odd.

                    Create a folder at the Macintosh HD level (the same folder where Users is the last item). Name it whatever you want. Create aliases of each of those family files. Put the aliases in the folder that you created. Now drag the folder into the right hand end of the dock.

                    Now when you click on said folder in your dock, like the Downloads folder, you get a display of the aliases. Choose and that family file opens.

                    I have several folders like that set up and it works well and you get to where you want quite quickly.

                      Thanks for the suggestion. While it doesn't actually fix the bug, it does give quick access to the files.

                        Re: Open Recent option not working

                        Sorry for the delay in responding, we've been doing some testing on this issue.

                        If you open your Family File and select:

                        File -> Get Info...

                        From the main menu-bar at the top of the computer screen, what does it say for "Reunion Location"? E.g., does it say:

                        /Applications/Reunion 11.app

                        Or something else?

                        Also, what model of Mac are you using?

                        Thanks,
