Strange "code" in Death Place Field :: [[pt:5260]]

Hello, all of a sudden I'm getting weird 'codes' in many Death Place fields, such as [[pt:5260]].

There are always two sets of brackets and within is a pt: then four digits.

Help! What are these and how do I restore my database to its proper configuration?

What you are looking at is an index into the internal list of place names.

You should save a copy of the file. Then, under the "File" menu, select "Rebuild Cache Files..."

Most likely, this will resolve the problem. If it doesn't, you should write the help desk at help@leisterpro.com and ask if they can help you. (They will probably ask you to send the file to them, but wait for them to ask)

Wow, Dennis. It worked! I am so grateful to you for this insight. Do you have additional insight into what might have caused this phenomenon to appear? A couple of days ago I did have to manually re-start my computer, causing all open programs to be shut down atypically. I assumed this was the problem. Thank you again! -- Michael S. Caldwell

An abnormal shutdown can certainly cause this. It looks scarier than it really is
