    Marking and Unmarking Combinations

I'm just wondering if anyone can suggest an easy way to do this....

What I want to do is share some information on one line of my family, but as I don't know the people I am sharing with, I want to limit what is shared. However, I ALSO want to included information on people with the same surname that I have not quite figured out the relationship.

I have set flags for each of my major surnames and mark both those with known relationships and those that MIGHT be related, so it is easy to do a FIND with the flag and mark everyone related (or maybe related) to that surname.

However, I also want to limit this to only 3 generations of descendants for my Gr-grandfather, to be sure that nothing current is revealed. I realize I could mark them PRIVATE, and I have, but I remove that flag when I have a death date. What I am trying to avoid is listing the spouses of people still living.

What I have done is very convoluted. I marked everyone with the surname flag. Then I did a FIND 'MARKED' and 'PRIVATE' and unmarked them. Then I did FIND 'MARKED' and 'BIRTHDATE AFTER 1920' and went through these one by one to decide if they should be included or not, based on whether they had a living spouse, parent, or siblings.

What I really wanted to do was mark everyone with the SURNAME flag and then UNMARK every descendent in generation 4 and beyond. However I can only find a way to mark the SURNAME, which gives me all generations, or mark the descendants.

    Any ideas?
