Print report based on flags or facts?

I have place a flag on everyone who DNA matches my husband, plus created a DNA fact.

I was able via manual to figure out how to get a list in the sidebar of everyone with the DNA flag, but is there a way to print a report of ONLY people with either a DNA flag or DNA fact?

I'm sure this is in the manual, but my brain isn't coming up with the right terminology to find the answer in the manual.

Yes. The process would involve doing a search for people with a DNA flag; unmarking everybody in your family file, then marking those people in the list; doing a search for people with something in the DNA Fact field and marking them; searching for people who are marked; and, finally, opening the results in a list window and sending it to your word processor "or" creating a report (such as a descendant or ancestor report) for only marked people.

The following may seem like a lot of steps. But, it is an easy process...

    1. Search for people with the DNA flag by choosing Find and selecting these conditions...

Flags > DNA checked ... Yes

    Then click Find.

    2. In the Results sidebar on the right, click on the Mark button at the bottom and select "Unmark Everybody in Family File, then Mark Everybody in List."

    3. Search for DNA Fact fields that are "not empty" by choosing Find and selecting these conditions...

Facts > DNA (or whatever your DNA Fact field is named) ... Is Not ... <leave this field empty>

    Then, click Find.

    4. In the Results sidebar on the right, click on the Mark button at the bottom and select "Mark Everybody in List."

So, right now, every marked person should either have a DNA flag or have something entered into a DNA Fact field.

    5. One way to get a listing of marked people is to choose Find and select these conditions...

Attributes > Person Marked ... Yes

    Then, click Find.

    * If you want a report just with the information shown in the Results sidebar, click on the Share button at the bottom (the blue box), select your word processor as the destination and open it in your word processor.

    * If you are wanting to see additional fields for the people in the list, click the list button at the bottom (the two orange rectangles) and a List window will open. The List window allows you to add other fields and/or sort by other fields. To share that list window, click on the Share button at the bottom (the blue box), select your word processor as the destination and open the list in your word processor.

Information about how to use a list window can be found in your manual by searching for "using list window."

    * If you are wanting a different type of report, navigate to the appropriate source person for the report and choose Reports. Then, select the type of report you are wanting. Next, select the appropriate option to create that report for only "marked" people. (I.e., depending on the type of report, this will be available in the "Who" section or the "Prune" section of the report panel.)

I hope you find this information helpful in getting the type of report you want
