Merging data from a GEDCOM file with an updated Reunion 9 file

I have just installed Reunion 11 as an update from Reunion 9. I am trying to merge a GECDOM file from Family Tree Maker so missing data shows up in my Reunion 11 files. I have tried to follow the instructions, but o matches are found when I try. What am I doing wrong?

The question is confusing due to lack of specifics.....

Was the data in your file under 9 but now "disappeared" after upgrading to 11?

One cannot merge a GEDCOM and a Reunion file. One imports a GEDCOM into a Reunion file. That may be what you meant but were just using the wrong terminology.

    Which instructions?

What kind of things are not matching?

Information on the above will help ReunionTalk members to help you.

I have obviously used incorrect terminology--this is relatively new to me. I want to import a GEDCO into my Reunion file. I used Reunion 9, switched to Family Tree Maker. I am back with Reunion 11. The moving Reunion 9 into Reunion 11 does not have the new information added in FTM. I made a GEDCOM from FTM. How do I import the GEDCOM so the Reunion 11 will contain the updates? Thank you for your patience. Gene

Re: Merging data from a GEDCOM file with an updated Reunion 9 file

The general answer is to first create another Family File and import the FTM GEDCOM into the new file. Next you would do a merge of the R9>R11 file with the from-FTM file.

I am admittedly rusty on merging as I haven't done one in several years. I will let someone else speak here with regard to looking out for problems that may occur or any other advice.
