    Book or folder to print

I am a little overwhelmed with the project I would like to do. I would like to print a folder/book for both my maternal and paternal line and just don't know how to get started. I want this to be as easy and simple as possible. I have used Reunion and just upgraded to Reunion 11.

If anyone can give me ideas I would appreciate it.

I too am overwhelmed by the same ambitions. So I welcomed Renunion's 'Book' feature in v11. OK, it is not the same as a skillfully written book, but it presents a complete presentation of all the data you have in Reunion for a given selection. It might read a little clunky, but some appropriate rewriting of the memos about events etc, can give it a better feel. It will include the photos you have in your family file, and the sources too, if selected. The best part is it is an easy way to distribute your family history to others in the family, as long as they have a computer running a PDF Reader. Which means just about everyone. All the places and names are linked so it is easy to navigate around the tree.

The other idea I was given was to write a pamphlet about one particular person in your tree. You won't feel overwhelmed by the limited task, and when finished you may feel you can do another, then another, etc. Putting them together may just about reach your initial goal.

Following on the pamphlet idea, for some of my more interesting people, I have prepared one of those folders consisting of plastic sleeves. For the great uncle killed in WW1, for instance, I have printed off some information from Reunion, and then added copies of newspaper articles, army record, photos, and his letters from the front.

I find the family will look through such a folder at family gatherings, whereas they are daunted by a lengthy presentation with lots of people and dates.
I will eventually do the book but will have perhaps 7 or 8 of these folders as well. It is a good way to start the bigger project.

Thank you for your helpful ideas. I have been filling in some blanks and about ready to print. We will be leaving for Port Royal, Nova Scotia in a few weeks and hope to have something in print to take with us. This is where my husband's family first arrived from France.
