Can you share / export Preferences?

I am creating a separate family file for a cousin, inputting her family info for her.

Reunion comes with a set of default Preferences for fields and colours and layout, etc. I have adjusted the Preferences to the way I like them.

Is there a way to export my preferences?

Or can I make my preferences the default for all family tree's created?

Many many thanks for any assistance.

You can save your Family File as a template, so that it has no data but does retain your set up. I don't remember exactly how to do that, but if you search the Help file, Contents, for template, it should explain the procedure.

Yes - use the File ------> Export ------> Reunion Family File to make a copy of your file that has No People, No Sources and No Multimedia.

This method gave the option of saving a blank file with my Preferences (image attached).

I tried importing a Reunion file into this blank file and the Preferences did not change.

I saved the Reunion file as a gedcom file and imported into the saved blank file and my Preferences were all there, that is exactly what I wanted.

        Thank you!

I needed the same thing for my first cousin and this helped, thanks. But, I imported our common ancestors and "Cited Sources." Now I wish I had imported All Sources. Can I go through this routine again to make yet another new family file with No People, No Multimedia and All Sources, then import that into the family file I made for my cousin?

In other words, do a transfer of all my sources from my family file to my cousin's family file?

Sounds simple but I'm afraid to try it without asking first!

          Thanks,
          Susan

You can, but you will have duplicate sources (the ones that were cited and therefore previously transferred). You'd have to eliminate them by matching & merging.
