You can change these colors in:

Reunion -> Preferences... , Family View, Miscellaneous, Sex colors

Is there a "back" button ? The tree view feature is great but I keep wanting to go back a screen.
Do you mean you want to switch back to the Family View? Or that you want to go back to the last person you were viewing?

And can I change the male and female silhouette figures for each person ?
You can only select one silhouette option to be used throughout the file, via:

Reunion -> Preferences... , Family View, Miscellaneous, Silhouettes

It's not possible to set a specific silhouette for each person, except by adding an image to that persons multimedia and setting it as their preferred picture.

And can I change the male and female silhouette figures for each person ? This is fine for the 21st century but a jacket and tie look silly on a fifteenth century ancestor.
You can change up the colors of the family view on the Familyl View Preferences panel. You can choose to make all the buttons a single color (which you can choose) or you can color buttons by sex (which gets you blue=M, pink=F, etc.) which you can also change (if you like, to a more subtle blue/pink, or to some other wholly arbitrary color.

In the same place, you can choose what shows when there's no preferred picture under "Silhouettes". There are 3 different portraits (all, I think, with neckties), a "Reunion symbol" which is a very stylized person (no features that would indicate era), and a choice for ♂ and ♀. But it's one choice applied to everyone, you can't choose one for one person and a different one for another. If the jacket & tie bother you the Reunion symbol should be fine.

        Thanks for quick response Mark.
I mean going back to the last page I was viewing, e.g. if I switch from family view to the tree view and then click on various people in the tree , can I go back up by pages viewed. I guess this is like the back button in Safari and many other programs, which takes you back step by step

Mark, there was an arrow at the top left of the Family View page in Reunion 9, which did just what I mentioned above , i.e. go back a step at a time. Is this also in Reunion 11?

            Re: Attaching legible charts

There are left and right arrows in the center bottom part of the Reunion window which can be used to backtrack in both the Family View and the Tree View.

              Re: Attaching legible charts

Thanks again Tim, with your help , my 7th cousin on the other side of the world can now open and read the 11 generation chart which you saw.
One more query about Reunion 11 if I may: in Reunion 9 I was able to drag my own family File to the right of the dock on my mac, and with just one click , always access the file quickly. This wasn't the Application or standard Reunion icon, but another one with the word Family written underneath. Can i do the same in Reunion 11, please ? It was a brilliant feature as I could always pop quickly into the program , with just the one click.
My old R9 file icon is still there in the dock at bottom right , and I'm reluctant to delete or move it until I know that R11 can do the same.

                Re: Attaching legible charts

Glad we were able to figure things out!

I'm going to assume when you opened your Reunion 9 family file with Reunion 11, it prompted you to save a new file that had the same name as your Reunion 9 family file, only with an 11 on the end. It should work just fine to drag that file to the right side of the dock. Clicking on it will launch Reunion 11 and open your family file just like things worked with Reunion 9.

That's a feature of Mac OS X, not Reunion. If you drag any document's icon (created by any program: Reunion, MS Word, Photoshop, etc.) to the right of the separator line in the Dock, clicking on the icon in the Dock will open the document in the appropriate program.

                    Thanks Dennis,
Can you explain in a little more detail where I find the icon to drag please. I've bought and downloaded R11 and converted my old R9 family file to R11, but still have my R9 Family file icon in the dock, "live"as a R9 file.
What I'd like is an R11 icon specifically for my family file in the dock as before.

                      Re: Attaching legible charts

Assuming you've already opened your Reunion 9 family file in Reunion 11, the most likely place to find your new family file is in your folder Documents/Reunion Files. It should have the name of the old file with an 11 at the end of the name. This is the file you can drag to the right side of the Dock.

If you haven't opened your old file with Reunion 11 yet, you should be able find your old file there too. If it's not there, you can find it by holding the Control key down, clicking on the icon in the dock, and selecting Options>Show in Finder.

Reminder: If Dropbox and ReunionTouch have already been set up, there is a different location for said file... Users/YourName/Dropbox. One can still drag the icon to the Dock.

Any help about Dropbox greatly appreciated Bob as well , as I'm a real numpty with it. At the moment I can't upload photos from my phone or camera because my "Dropbox is full". i think I need to increase my Dropbox storage. Do I have to pay for that ? Did Apple change the way that photos and Dropbox are managed on a standard Mac not long ago ?
It's frustrating how Apple and others make users have to constantly upgrade, with system or storage

I've just checked and to upgrade to Dropbox Pro, I see I need to spend $99 a year. Is that standard for any Mac user who wants to store and manage a reasonable collection of photos , e.g. a Family History and Reunion enthusiast like me. I've never had to pay anything before in the days of iPhoto.

You have to think about how you use Reunion, and make decisions about where to store files on that basis. If you use Reunion primarily on your iMac or portable equivalent, but want to share information occasionally (via Dropbox) with your iPad, there is no need to store the photos on Dropbox. You can store the (full size) photos on your iMac (locally). Reunion makes thumbnails of these photos when they are linked to people in the Reunion file, and these thumbnails are included in the family file and will be shown when you access the data with your iPad. (Thumbnails can also be turned off, though that shouldn't be necessary in terms of space.) So all you would need on DropBox proper would be the family file.

                              Others may have other suggestions.

Or to put it another way. For Reunion, there is only Dropbox. For all the other files of any kind, there is a whole bunch of choices including Apple's iCloud setup. The choice is up to you.
