How to export list of all Surnames?

Is it possible to export a list of all the surnames in my family file?

This would be useful to upload to a DNA matching site.

Better yet, is it possible to export a list of Surnames and locations in a CSV format?

      It's a baked-in feature.

From the left sidebar, choose Reports. Then choose "Last Names." You'll see a selector at the top of the screen, which is useful if you have marked people in the file. At the right you'll see the number of "unique last names" in your file.

At the bottom of the screen, choose the "share" box. Choose "Text File," change the file name and location if you like, and save it.

Quirks: it looks to me like this saves as a formatted report in .RTF format, but I'd go ahead and import it into a spreadsheet program, strip out the top rows, and resave it in the format that the DNA matching site needs. The actual table looks like TAB-delimited columns.

      Hope this helps.

        Thank you. This worked perfectly.

Now if there was a way to export Surnames with Locations that would be even more ideal.
