Manual: Perspective Events Chart

Today, I tried to add a new Perspective Events Chart. I searched for help in the manual and found "choose Timeline -> Perspectives ->Add one".

It took me quite a while to navigate to this. May be I'm missing something, but shouldn't the manual say "choose -> Charts (sidebar) -> Timeline -> Create Chart -> Timeline -> Perspectives ->Add one ?

No. Because users don't typically approach this from the angle of "I want to make a Perspective Events Chart." Instead, the approach is "I'm making a Timeline chart, and I want to add perspective events to the TimeLine chart." Thus, the instructions in the manual are in the context of a timeline chart.

OK, i'm stumped.

I have been trying to follow the steps to add perspectives. I get to the point of Timeline -> Create Chart, and that is it. Where are the selections for perspectives? It looks intriguing in the manual but for the life of me I cannot find these menu selections.

Grant, after you create your timeline chart, when you're in the chart editor, go to the top menu bar and select Timeline->Perspectives->Add One/Add Set.

May be you could add a line saying "Create a timeline chart first ..."?
