I am using Reunion 10 and want some advice on how I enter the birth of a relative to a known mother but unknown father. It is further complicated by the fact that the mother had already had 5 children with a known partner, who was married to someone else that he had left.

How should I deal with this complicated situation? Any guidance, would be much appreciated.

Oh, it's not that uncommon!

Add an unknown male partner in addition to the other partners the mother already has (I use [?] for the name, you could use anything), then add the child to that pair. You may want to mark the couple as unmarried if you know that to be the case.

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the reply. How does the system know that the person entered is a partner, as opposed to a husband. It is further complicated, as all of the children, including the one with the unknown father, took the surname, of the first partner.
