    Searching the web

The links from Reunion to the web on Ancestry, Archives, Family search and several other I have tried work like they are supposed to with the exception of findmypast. I get a page that says "This is not a valid address for findmypast". I can access it directly, but not with the convenience of Reuniion linking the name searched. Thank you

    Re: Searching the web

    Betty,

I have tried all three of the Find My Past web searches and all appear to be working as expected for me. Can you provide details of the individual you are trying to search for and if possible a copy of the "invalid" url web address and I will try and help.

      William Moses 1820-1904 Breconshire Wales

I also get the same for William Pugh 1820-1884 Glamorgan Wales

      Does this help? Thanks

        Hi Betty,

It looks like you don't have the most recent search engine update.

First, please make sure you have 10.0.3 installed:

        Then, go to:

Reunion -> Preferences... , Web, Searching

And click the "Check for New Sites..." button.

Once the sites have been updated, try the search again.

Let us know the results - thanks!

Thanks, it worked, but how I wonder--as I already had 10.0.3 and findmypast was listed, but I did go ahead and click button for check new sites. Greatly appreciated.

There was a change to the findmypast.com search after the release of Reunion 10 (the web address/URL changed), and we updated the web search to use the new URL. When you checked for new updates to the web search engines it grabbed the updated version.
