    Application Warning

Every time I start Reunion 10.0.3 I get a warning saying this application was downloaded from the internet, do I want to open it.

It is the only application that I have downloaded from the internet that always presents this warning. Other internet downloaded applications only present the warning on the initial opening.

Does anyone else have this problem with Reunion? It is not a big problem, just a minor inconvenience.

LeisterPro fixed this, but you have to re-download the 10.0.3 package from http://www.leisterpro.com/doc/versio...tes/update.php and reinstall it.

The actual issue is that on Mountain Lion there's a feature called Gatekeeper which checks if apps you run are cryptographically signed. The default setting will warn you if you run an app that is *not* signed, i.e. has come from an unknown developer. There are some other settings - go to the Security & Privacy preference pane (General tab) in System Preferences.

LeisterPro cryptographically signed the latest 10.0.3 app so you don't get warned. This is a good thing.

This message will also appear repeatedly if you are accidentally launching Reunion from the downloaded DMG file (for example, if you're double-clicking the Reunion 10 icon inside the window called "Installing Reunion 10" or an alias that points to that file) rather than launching the Reunion application inside your Applications folder. We see this occasionally when users forget to "eject" the "Installing Reunion 10" icon from the desktop.

Thank you for the advice. I will re-install Reunion and see how that goes.
I am running Snow Leopard so the Gatekeeper is not causing the bother.
I have Reunion in the Applications folder and the warning appears when I start Reunion from that folder.
So, I will do a re-install and see what happens.

Many thanks for your prompt response.

Well, I downloaded a fresh copy of Reunion 10.0.3 and installed it. Ejected the installer, and deleted the .dmg from the Downloads folder. No luck, the troublesome warning still appears. Incidently, this bother appears on both my Mac Book Pro and my iMac.

As it is only a minor bother I am not worried about it, so I will see what happens with the next update, or change to Mountain Lion.

Under Lion (don't know about earlier/later), you can repeatedly receive this warning if you're running Reunion from a non-admin account. If this is the case, you just need to run it once from an admin account, OK the warning there, and it will be remembered.

Edit: the other thing to check is that you trash the existing application before reinstalling it.

              Robin,

I'm not sure if this helps, but I get the same message for Reunion (and all of my programs) after running Onyx, a systems utility program; I too use Snow Leopard. Is it possible you're clearing some applications cache? (also, repairing permissions in disk utility and/or other Onyx options can't hurt).

That was the secret. Running Reunion from the Admin account fixed the problem. Now it opens properly from any user account.

                Thanks Tom,
