I note in the recent Ancesty.com blog that it is possible to sync it with Family Tree Maker. Is this an option with Reunion?

Family Tree Maker is developed by the company that owns Ancestry.com, and they don't allow third-party applications to interface/sync with their database.

Re: Sync Reunion with Ancestry.com
One way to keep ancestry.com somewhat up to date is delete your existing tree on ancestry.com and re-load with a new GEDCOM created in Reunion - I call it "dump & load". Only downside is that ancestry puts new "leaves" on your new tree which if you use you need to delete.

And, of course, the sources and notes fields won't make it to Ancestry from Reunion.

Also seems the 'hints' need to be checked and edited again so its not a good solution for Reunion users.Mark Harrison
