    iphoto

I ran into issues using iphoto for my media in reunion 9. Any change I made to a picture (date change, title change) would cause reunion to lose the link. I ended up having to make an entirely separate iphoto album duplicating all the photos and referencing them.

I see that reunion 10 claims it can keep up with changes in the finder and not lose links to photos. Is it safe to use a non referenced iphoto album now for my photos in reunion?

My two pennies: iPhoto is a good place for photo storage and editing. But, due to Apple's constant fiddling with its internal structure, it does not play nice with outside programs such as Reunion. In Reunion, relative to keeping media "connected," the path is king. And Apple's tinkering messes with the path.

I have always kept my media in a Photos folder within the Reunion Files folder. And I never have dropped connections of my photos and other media.

I agree with Bob - I placed my pictures in a separate folder and set Reunion 10 location to it. So far, I've had no problem with the sizing,

This is no longer true in 10. Unlike 9 and prior, 10 doesn't store the path to the file, instead it stores an alias to the file. This alias will (/should) always point to the same file, even if it's been moved or renamed.

Linking to files in the iPhoto Library should not be as problematic as it was in 9 and prior, though there's always the possibility Apple will make a change that will mess with the aliases we store in 10.

I hadn't picked up on that point, e.g. that you were now using aliases. However, I'll stick with what I've been doing as it is more Apple-proof than aliases as you hint at.
