    Places - Capitalization

    Using Reunion 10.0.4/OS X 10.8.2
I have places such as Newcastle upon Tyne, Stoke on Trent etc. Never had problems with mixes of upper and lower case but now see duplication for the above type of place name. Thinking that this was my typo I went through places, edited Upon to upon etc and in the process removed the duplicates. Immediately followed this with a rebuild cache.

When entering places i choose from the pick list, move focus to the next field and upon updates itself to Upon. If you don't notice then the duplicates continue to build. Has something changed - does Reunion now force uppercase? I can start with lowercase and slowly but surely the uppercase spreads. After several editing sessions am, reasonably, sure these are not my typos! Never saw this before through several years as a Reunion user.

Almost forgot: Editing a place field, in the Places pane, with focus then has an entry entry such as [[pt:330]] where uppercase was replaced by lowercase. Drag a place from the Places pane to a place field and behaviour is as expected - no forced uppercase.

    Suggestions?

This is to do with the setting for in a checkbox for "Initial Caps" on the Edit Person screen.

To prevent the problem you're seeing, when you have typed say

Stoke on Trent, Some County, England

    press

    Option Tab

To tab to the next field.

This will prevent Reunion automatically changing on to On.

      Thanks Roger,
The Alt + Tab combination does the job. Tried ticking/unticking "Initial Caps" but that is for names only.
