    How to Uninstall Reunion 9

I have updated to Reunion 10 and created my family file and a backup of the Reunion 9 family file. How do I uninstall Reunion 9? Do I drag the Reunion 9 App. to the trash or is there an uninstall process?

Simply trashing it should to the trick.

I include the following for informational purposes.

    ----------

If you want to be really thorough you can look in the Library folder of your home folder (~/Library). You'll find a Reunion folder within Application Support (~/Library/Application Support) which is where supporting files like web styles and perspective events live ((as well as a neat guitar piece by Frank Leister). You can also look in the Preferences folder within your Library folder (~/Library/Preferences) for file names containing "Reunion" or beginning with "com.leister."

I don't really recommend going to that much trouble as deleting these files will make Reunion 10 unaware of any preference customizations you made in Reunion 9 forcing you to revisit the app's preferences. As a matter of fact, Lion and Mountain Lion keeps ~/Library hidden from you because of the potential to mess things up.

If you're curious you can do Go>Go to Folder... from Finder and type in "~/Library" to open the folder.

You never should delete the application file as that probably will leave orphan files. To delete files use App Zapper or App Cleaner.

Reunion 9 and 10 share several files in the users Library, such as the file that contains the license information. Using one of these apps could result in those shared files being deleted; most of them will be restored the next time you open Reunion, but you may need to re-enter your license information (if you purchased the download) or re-authorize the install with your CD.
