color outline around child box on family page

I just tried to pull up the siblings/spouse/children etc menu from the little triangle in the upper right corner of the child box on a family page and instead of giving me those options, the outline of the box changed color. Each time I clicked on the triangle I'd get a different color. How can I get rid of the color? Also, is it possible to access that info (spouse, children etc) from a "child" on a family sheet or do I have to have that person as the parent in order to?

I have a similar problem.

One of my child boxes somehow got a colored box around it and there is no way to get the pop-up PERSON menu to appear so I can change it. This is the only person that hovering over the little right side triangle does not bring up the pop-up menu.

How can I fix this??
