Some months ago my wife and I split our >3000 Reunion records so that we could work simultaneously on our respective halves of the total family, each on a separate computer. We intended to re-combine the two halves, perhaps only once, or perhaps from time to time.
I have just realised that there is now a problem, as both my wife and I have been adding sources independently, each of which has been numbered sequentially by Reunion, starting from (one more than) our respectve highest numbers that existed just before the split!
1. What will happen to these "new" numbers when we re-combine the two halves?
2. If Reunion cannot be guided to recognise the overlap, how can we solve the resulting problem?
I am sure that I can identify the latest common number (around 510, I think), but there are probably already dozens of "duplicate" numbers beyond that on our separate machines.
All advice gratefully received!
Brian Millo.
