Making a report of Ancestors

I know the manual gives directions on making various reports, but what I would like to do is make a report starting with me and then go backwards to my earliest known ancestor, for example on my father's side.
Does anyone know if this can be achieved, and if so how?

When making a Chart there is the option of "a number of generations up and down" and this would be very handy in the "report" function" but I can't find it.

Anyone help?

If you want a report of all your ancestors, what you want is an Ahnentafel report. Reunion lets you pick the number of generations you want to go back, on the page where you generation the report. If you can't find it, look in the manual under "What is an Ahnentafel Report?" in the section "How Many Generations?".

If you want only one line rather than all ancestors, I would think the way to go is to mark all your ancestors, identify the one you want to trace back to, and do a descendant report from that ancestor of marked descendants only. It wouldn't go backwards, though.

Many thanks for your helpful advice, I will experiment to see how it comes out.

Its a pity you can't "go backwards" as that would have been an invaluable
tool.
