Backup, Export - Free form text, Exclude from End Notes

The Free Format field in a Source has an option to not display the value in end notes. In previous versions of Reunion these values were also excluded when exporting to a GEDCOM and when copying to another Reunion File. When doing a Save As to create a compact Family File, the Free Format information was copied correctly, regardless of the Exclude from End Notes setting.

With Reunion 10, the Free Format text now appears in a GEDCOM regardless of the Exclude from End Notes setting. But if one creates a new Family File using the Save a Backup Copy or uses the Export to Family File, any Free Format text marked as Exclude from End Notes will not be transferred to the new file. I made a new copy of my 65,000+ person Family File a week ago and just discovered that 15 years of Census transcripts in 7,000+ sources are not in the new Family File!

You can verify this by using the Sample family file from Reunion 9 and marking the Free Format field on one of the two Vital Stat sources to Exclude from End Notes. With Reunion 9, the GEDCOM will not contain the excluded text; with Reunion 10, it will. With Reunion 9 a copy of the Sample will contain the excluded text. With Reunion 10, files created by the Back up or Export options will not contain the excluded text. Beware!
