In Family Views (preferences), I have relationships as a field, but that field is not showing up. What do I need to do so that I can see my relationship to my ancestors.
What do I need to do so that I can see my relationship to my ancestors.
You need to "identify" your ancestors.
From the manual:
[1] Click Relatives in the Sidebar list (to show the Relatives sidebar).
[2] Click the Change button at the top of the list.
[3] Click Current source person.
[4] Click Identify.
If you add some new people to your family file, you should update the relationships to see how the new people are related to the source person.
There are other ways to do this (like dragging a person's button to the Relatives sidebar) that you can find by searching the manual for "Source Person for Relationships"
I just noticed that my half-brother and half-sister do not appear on this list. They are correctly identified in the Family View. Is there a setting that I need to adjust? Or is this an item missing from the program?

If you click the Settings icon (looks like a gear) under the Relatives sidebar, you'll see the settings you need. Probably "Half" isn't checked. Check it, click "update" and you should be good to go.
Thank you. That worked. I had several "unchecked" categories.
