    We each do things our own way, but you ask whether you are losing anything, and I think maybe you are.

    Because I like everything in the family view to be visible if possible without scrolling down, I put anything lengthy elsewhere, usually attached to a source. So the Note might just say "See Jewish Chronicle [date]" and the source would take you to the document. Advantage is you have the option to use images of the original, which are surely preferable, as they get you closer to the source itself. If they are not sufficiently legible, you can add a transcript - which you would need to do in any case if putting them directly into Notes. Also, such a source may provide many distinct facts, and each can be so referenced.
