Blank lines and columns in Index

I'm using an iMac OS X v.10.6.8 running Reunion 9.0c. The Index counts a total of 8179 List Entries and many screen pages of blank lines; I'm unable to count the blank lines as there's no reference point. Later, only the first column giving the persons name is visible. There is much horizonal blank space before the first column at the right side showing any data and, then, only one column. When I move to the first complete record and click on "Person ID 1", a full normaL record appears; when I click on that record go to "Person 8179" the screen presents that record. There seems to be no missing records; but where did the Index pages of blank line come from? Can the blank lines be safely eliminated?

How can I adjust the Index to again show the missing columns?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure exactly what you are describing, but see if this helps.

Under the "File" menu, select "Rebuild cache files..." and click "Rebuild".

Can you take a screen shot? Or at least list the titles of the columns?

it sounds like you may have accidentally set the first column of your index view to show either "None", or else some data value that is blank for most of the records in your file, such as Name Prefix, and then made that column very wide.

You change the column contents by mousing down on them and picking a data field from the popup menu; you adjust their width by mousing down on one of the vertical bars between column titles and dragging horizontally.
