Unable to search within Index

I am using Reunion 9 and I am having trouble searching from within the index. I understand that you have to click on the column that you want to search, be it First & Mid name, Last Name Birth Place or whatever else you may want but the only one that works for me is Last Name. When I try and search First & Mid name or even birth pace the search returns zero results. I have even tried searching for my First Name Gary as I know that I am there as I am the first card, but still no results.

What am I doing wrong?

Doing this just causes Reunion to sort the Index on that column, it doesn't have any effect on the search.

The search box at the top-right of the Index only allows you to search on names, using the following format:

Last Name, First & Mid Name

You can't use the search box to search by other values (birth date/place, death date/place, etc.). However, you can search on First & Mid Name only by entering a comma before the name, e.g.:

, First & Mid Name

For more details on how this works, click the "?" at bottom-left of the Index window and go to the section on "Searching in the Index and Found Lists" in the Manual page that opens.

For more powerful searching options, such as searching the file by birth date, you should use the Find feature which can be accessed by clicking the Find icon at the top of the Family Card window.
