I need to know a simple way of making a list of all multimedia files so that I may export or burn it to other family members who are also using Reunion 10. Is there a simple way to do this without having to go to each person page individually? I need to send them the photos and pdf files so that they can add those to their iPhoto, etc., thus making them available for their own Reunion 10. I hope this makes sense! :-) Thanks!

Re: List of all multimedia for sharing
Thank you so much! Just having a list of them all in one place will be a great help to me! I was dreading having to go through each person page (I probably would never have gotten it done!). BTW, I have Goode family, too (my maternal grandfather's line).

Re: List of all multimedia for sharing
With my filing system, this is ez-pz without even using Reunion. First, as I've said many times before, all media is kept in the Reunion Pictures folder. Second is my file naming system: LastNameFirstNameYearLocation. Thus, a photo of Bob Goode taken this year in San Francisco would be named GoodeBob_2013_SanFranciscoCA.
Third is a free printing utility named PrintWindow (http://www.searchwaresolutions.com). I use that to print the Reunion Pictures folder. By saving to PDF instead of actually printing, I have a PDF to send that has the names in order, etc...
Just an alternative way of accomplishing this listing in case it fits your situation.Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991

Re: List of all multimedia for sharing
Hi Bob,
Thanks for that download, however, unfortunately it does not reveal the contents of folders. Since I have so many different media documents that I want to keep in this file, I have begun to place them in folders covering one person or one family. Using "Print Window" the folders are simply named along with all the individual documents.
If this is good for a person's needs, so be it, but I would like a way to print a list of all media documents without having to open all those folders. If you, or anyone else, has a solution to this I would be appreciative.

Re: List of all multim(MORE)
One More thing!
It would also be great if there were a way to create a PDF showing an image of all the individual documents in the REUNION Pictures folder, both those individual documents AND those in folders. I would like to send that PDF to family members.
By using the REUNION "Web Project" report seems to come close but has a lot more information than just those images and, because of size, needs to be sent through the mail rather than email.
Just asking the group!

To see this feature, click Reports > Multimedia Usage, and then click the Tools icon (the little hammer at the bottom). The item is called "Copy files to new folder..."
For more info, click the ? button in Reunion 10 and search the manual for "share multimedia files" (without the quotes).Last edited by Frank; 22 July 2013, 01:50 PM.Frank Leister

Re: List of all multimedia for sharing
The creation of this new folder is exactly what I need. However, I would like to produce a list containing the titles and comments of each picture, and I don't know how to extract these, except by programming something to extract the data from a Gedcom file, which I would prefer to avoid (I am not such a good programmer). I would also hate to have to open each of my 300+ media within Reunion to retrieve the title and comments I gave them.
My objective is to use InDesign to produce this document, and I know how to do it using a list. So my primary concern is to produce that list first.

A list with picture titles and comments could become unwieldy because one picture may be linked to many people. And, in each instance where it is linked, there can be a different comment. In addition, each comment can be comprised of several lines/paragraphs and up to 1000 characters.Frank Leister

Cool! But I tried this and seemed to have found a glitch, as follows. If I mark four (4) people only, and then in Settings, I selected "Marked People," and then:
1. Select Preferred Picture Only, I get 4 multimedia files (which is correct).
2. If I select All Pictures, I get 54 files, which is NOT correct. Many of them are for people not marked. For the four marked people, I have only a total of 9 multimedia files (i.e. five in addition to the Preferred one for each).
My actual total of all multimedia for all people in the database is 233 images.
So, where does the 54 files result come from? If the "Marked People" button is selected, shouldn't the "All Pictures" button on the same input screen give only all pictures for the Marked People?

Re: List of all multimedia for sharing
The difference could be due to pictures linked to a "family" that includes one marked person.
i.e., if John and Jane are married, and only John is marked, but there are pictures linked to the family of John and Jane, then the multimedia files (in the top list) will include those linked to John and also those linked to John and Jane (their "family" images).Frank Leister

Hi Bob,
Just to clarify, what is your system for pictures of several people? And for other types of media, documents and so forth?
Thanks,
