My mother- many names
Hello all
I have a quandary about name changes. Can't seem to find a suitable link in ReunionTalk.
- Details of my mother's name and changes she endured.
I will list her details briefly.
Mother was born in 1911 and named A.M. Majewski, her father's family name.
In 1917 he was unemployed due to WW1.
He changed his full name From Herman MAJEWSKI by deed poll to Harry WEBB, an assumed name. He also changed his wife and two daughters family name to WEBB.
No further children to them.
Both girls married and assumed their married names.
One - my mum went from miss MAJEWSKI, to miss WEBB, to Mrs FIELDS.
My mum's name on the marriage record shows WEBB. On her death cert. she is FIELDS.
Nowhere is there any reference to name change by deed poll.
(I do have that poll declaration).
Her elder sister followed this pattern until her divorce and remarriage. = 4 names.
In my recollection there was never any mention of mother's birth name though it was no secret.
So how do I show all this on the family record?
