This is most likely a matter of clicking and waiting a little too long to drag. We occasionally hear about this.
Try clicking and dragging a spouse without waiting, i.e., almost one movement. Normally, that seems to help.

This is not indicative of any corruption in your file.

Believe me, as one of the oldies around here, that if it was a common problem, Leister would act fairly quickly to fix the problem. I have seen that happen time and again. I'm pretty sure that something odd is going on in your family file and that you should heed Terry's advice and contact their help desk. You will find some of the best help west of the Atlantic coast.

Have you tried that?

They usually do, but you can email them directly with a question at help@leisterpro.com.

As for moving the spouse...I sometimes click to highlight & then click, hold & move TO THE RIGHT and then up or down to the position wanted...watching for the orange line.

Thanks, but it makes no difference.

I believe your red color reflects what is set as the "highlight color" in the Apple>SystemPreferences>Appearance window on your computer. You can change this to blue there if you choose but it shouldn't be causing your problem, to which I have no answer.
You were right about the preference setting, and I have now changed it from red to blue -- but I still can't grab/drag a spouse to change the order! Could the file itself be corrupted? Is there a way to "rebuild" it (without losing all my data)?

That's odd - works for me. I just start dragging the second wife in the list and a darker horizontal line appears where it plans to insert her.

My highlighted line is blue. By the way, if you try to drag an unhighlighted line when you first come in, it won't work. Click on the name you want to move to highlight it, then you can drag it.
