    Help with Privacy, please

    Hello folks,

I am sure that I should know how to do this but I just cannot figure it out. My younger sister has been married twice and really wants to be considered single with no marriages listed. I will respect her wishes but I do not want to remove these spouses from my files.

In the manual it says that this type of situation should be handled by "marking" but then I would have to "mark" those two every time I do a web project, or reports of any kind where they might appear.

I wonder if there is a simple way to "block" these guys from showing up when I do an report and not have them "unblock" when I change my marking.

These conditions are for reports sent to my family so that is why I allow living people.

    Any ideas are appreciated.

A quick visit to the Help content shows what might be a solution for you. I went to the Help menu, selected Contents, then entered "privacy" in the search field. The first result seems likely to help. Specifically, it offers the ability to consider people private if they have a certain Flag checked. You can add Flags at will, so perhaps putting one on these unwanted spouses would do the trick.

      Steve,

You are GREAT!!! I just added a flag called "Blocked Person" and I think that might work!

      Thanks,

Several years ago I published a family history for a reunion we were having. One of my cousins was married three times, but never told her children about her first two husbands. When the descendants chart went up on the wall, it caused quite a stir. She's still not speaking to me.

I could have used this feature if I had known about it then.
