    Saving a text document(formats)

I am sure that this is not just for users of Reunion 10 but I was unsure where to postsorry.

I have made decisions as to the proper format for saving images for permanence but how do you save a document originally written in WORD so the it will be readable over time. Having to go back to all old documents and convert them every few years seems like quite a chore. Is there a specific format that would be best, (longer lasting)?

    I would appreciate any suggestions.

    Thanks you,
    Frank

If it is just text and formatting is not important, save it as a plain text file. It will always be readable and editable.
If there are important graphics or formatting, save as a PDF. PDF is designed to be backwards compatible, unlike Word files. This sacrifices editability, but preserves the content.
