Children of unwed mothers

How do I add unwed mothers to Reunion. My father had a child prior to being married to another woman other than my mother. I want to add the child with both his mother and my father and have the child connected to me as a half-brother. I cannot do that. The only way I can add the child to both parents is to have them married. He connects to both individually, but I cannot have him on his page and have both parents showing.
Also when drag his name to the relatives sidebar, his father and all my cousins back to my great grandparents are listed, but not his mother nor myself and my sisters.

Is there a way to fix this.

Add natural mother & father. In the box that says 'married', click and change to 'unmarried''.

Then add child to 1st, add him again, but this time, add from the people list as an existing person.
