Reason: Spelt Catalina wrong!
Something about going to 64 bit vs. 32 bit with Catalina, I found my scanner no longer worked, had to upgrade, and some other software that doesn't work. I just upgraded to 12, there are a whole bunch of new features and the upgrade is only $49 so not so bad. Make sure you backup your files first.
Here's a good resource to check on which apps you will have to either update or abandon over the 64 bit issue: https://roaringapps.com
Bob White, Mac Nut Since 1985, Reunion Nut Since 1991
Jenanyan, Barnes, White, Duncan, Dunning, Hedge and more
iMac/MacBookAir M1 - iPhonePro/iPadPro - Reunion14 & RT
There are two other options: install Parallels Desktop (or another VM program), install an old OSX & your 32 bits programs in that, or install an old OSX on an external drive and put your 32bits programs on that disk. Both options are a bit complicated but doable.
