Why do these 2 Family Files differ so much in size?

I have a Reunion 10 Family File that is 142.5 MB. If I export a GEDCOM and then create a new Family File by importing the GEDCOM, the new Family File is only 15 MB. Why the great difference in size between the 2 Family Files?

Incidentally, the Reunion 10 Family File was originally created by converting a Reunion 9 Family File, and the latter is 7.8 MB. So, another question is why the Reunion 10 Family File is so much larger than the Reunion 9 one.

There is a lot of media thumbnails embedded in a Reunion 10 file that account for the size difference.

If you right click on the Reunion 10 file and choose "Show Package Contents" you'll see a folder called thumbnails - open that to see all the media thumbnails that are stored in the file.
