Update field order in existing sources

Over the years, I have "refined" (and I am sure in the future I will further refine) the way I order fields in my sources. Is there a way to update ALL of my sources to match the current default field order for each type? My searches of the FAQ and forum have not yielded a method and with nearly 2000 sources, changing them individually is a significant task!

    Thanks for any help!

I would also be very interested in learning a method to do this.

This isn't the answer to what you want, but if you're adding fields to a source as you revisit it, you don't have to do that. You can select any other source type in the drop-down window at the bottom left of the source window and then click on the original source type again. The source fields will then be updated to the current default. You probably already know this, though ...

I think your request is a good one - it is one that I'd like to see also. I think we all refine our source fields (both the order and the number) and it would be nice to have every source type updated at once so that when the source is opened again, for whatever reason, we will be prompted to enter the missing data.

An item to be added to the wish list, no doubt.

Thanks very much for this information. It's a good work-around and much easier than what I was doing, which was to re-arrange the source fields manually when I revisited a source during my work.
