Need some more help with merging...

Hi,

I understand the basic concept of merging in Reunion 10, but I'm concerned about messing something up. In my case, I have a couple (let's say Mr and Mrs Smith) listed twice, each time with a different daughter. I've now confirmed that the two girls are sisters, meaning that I'd like to merge Mr. Smith (1) with Mr. Smith (2), and the same for Mrs. Smith (1 & 2), and end up with a record showing them having two children (both daughters) together.

Will a simple use of the merge function accomplish this?

Yes. That's what it's supposed to do, and that's exactly what it does.

I'd mark the 2 sets of parent you want to merge, then with one of the family cards showing, do a match and merge between "both" and "marked people".

Remember, if you're nervous about trying anything in Reunion, you can try it on a copy of the file just to be sure it works the way you want. But this shouldn't make you nervous...
