Recovering ancient Reunion file - I think

    Hi everyone -

I am trying to recover some work my mother did on our family history. I have a computer file that I *think* was from an old version of Reunion (5? 6?), but it has no file extension (like .familyfile) to clearly identify it. A peek at the file itself with a text editor shows the file contains "by Reunion for Macintosh" and "My UDS Family" and starts with "UDS2R~U6".

Is there anyone who could try and open the file in Reunion and see? An export of the contents (GEDCOM?) would help me know if it contains the data I am hoping to find. I hesitate to buy Reunion unless I know that the data is recoverable and is what I hope it is.

    Many thanks in advance,

    Victor G

The file sounds like it was created using Reunion 6. Reunion 6 did not make use of file extensions. However the U6 means it was created using Reunion 6.

Feel free to send the file to us at...

We can open it and let you know if the file is still okay.
