    Events showing *New [OCCU]

    Hi again...

Having just imported my GEDCOM into Reunion, which was created in Family Historian, I find that the above appears in the Events Panel, showing occupation at certain dates, with required citation visible.

However, I believe this should actually be in the "Facts" panel (where there isn't actually a date column?).

Am I going to have to manually move all these over. or is there a way I can replace *New [OCCU] with "Occupation" and leave them in the Facts Panel...?

    Dougie.

You can go to the Reunion preferences (under Reunion next to the Apple menu) then to the "Fields" pane there. Click on Move which is a tab and then you can choose to "move" the *New [OCCU] field to be a Fact.

But you might also want to just consider that Occupation really is an Event, since people are "occupied" for varying lengths of time and so leave them where they are. Then you can simply use the Field Preferences to change the string *New [OCCU] to say Occupation, and leave all of the rest of it alone - assuming that the actual occupation is in the Memo field where it should be, and not in the Place field where it shouldn't be.

      Thanks Roger...that does the trick...

I've left them as an event, which to me makes more sense. The actual occupation had been transferred into the Memo Field, so no worries there.

I came across this thread which seems to solve my problem with imported occupation tags, but I can't get it to work. How do you get the actual occupation, which is in the memo field, to show on the family view? All I can get to show is the date and place.
